For me, it just depends on the logistics. If meeting in my home city, both discretion and my tight schedule means I can't meet for drinks first. If out of state, anything goes and I have met a provider for drinks beforehand. I loved it because the overall date was a lots more fun and less mechanical.

I like process civil and electrical. No controls. And yes, less mechanical - that can give me piping undue stress and not flow the seamen through the relief valve.
