speaking of endorsements, Obama did endorse Clinton before the DNC convention in 2016 but after she had locked up the nomination with enough delegates to win on the first ballot.
he'd do that again IF a candidate emerges to lead the pack and get the nomination locked up before the convention but in this kind of scrum that probably won't happen. even with several of the low hanging fruitloops dropping like flies the Dem race is still too crowded and they haven't even started the primaries yet. i agree with gnadfly i think the Dems are looking at a brokered convention which is a disaster in the making for them. and it opens the door for the Savior to throw her wrinkled old tits into the fray as a draft nominee. won't that be a riot to watch? i foresee fistfights on the floor of the convention bhahaaa it's happened before.
contrast that to 2016 when the overstuffed Repub field was supposed to be so wide open no one was going to get the required delegates prior to the convention, certainly not Evil Lord Trump!! but a funny thing happened. Trump cruised to the nomination and had it in the bag before the convention. exactly what they needed, no contentious votes after vote, no brokered crap, a walk in the park for Trump. this of course defied conventional wisdom and made the politics who daily claimed their "Trump is done" bullshit over and over only to be made fools of by Trump. despite what the Chunster claims Trump was the front runner the moment he announced. he jumped out in the polls immediately and never looked back. only a few times was anyone even close, like Cruz and Kasich but neither of them ever had a large lead in the polls over Trump. at best they were briefly tied overall but that was it.

"Two days after Hillary Clinton secured enough delegates to be the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, President Obama endorsed Clinton on Thursday in a video. The two will campaign together next week in Wisconsin."
