Dang it Genie, lol. I have to agree with her totally. I stopped smoking with no weight gain and only smoke a "monica" about once a year. It also worked with dipping but I went back after a very traumatic incident in my life and just havent wanted to quit.

I can recommend the one i used but will have to pull his info outta my safe.

I know I'm a little far from home in the Big D forum, but I couldn't help but try to rescue a damsel in distress. I quit smoking 8+ years ago after being hooked on cigarettes for 37 years (Straight out of the womb...lol). What worked for me was hypnotism, but it certainly doesn't work for everyone. I failed at the patches, gum, going to classes, cold turkey, everything. At the point I quit, the only 2 things I hadn't tried were hypnotism and accupunture. To give you an idea how addicted I was to nicotine, whenever I tried to quit, I would actually sweat and get stomach cramps. I was like a junkie trying to kick a smack habit.
My point to anyone trying to quit is: "There is no way in hell you could have been more addicted than me." So, never stop trying to stop smoking. The amazing thing about my hypnotism is was that it was a group hypnotism seminar that came rolling through town. For $50 I thought, what the hell? I tried it but more importantly I BELIEVED it would work. I told myself that 10 times a day leading up to the day of the seminar. After the seminar I threw away the cigs and lighter and never was seriously tempted to smoke again. No withdrawal. I did stay away from alcohol for several days, though that was totally my choice.
I also believe a contributing factor was I hated being controlled by the evil cig. I've always had problems with authority (take a poll of my HS teachers) and I worked my self into a mindset that cigarretes were an authority that controlled my life. That got me pissed and I was determined to beat that authority.
Bottom Line: I wish you the best of luck and never give up trying to stop. Smoking has NO upside ($, smell bad and health issues). Please report back. I am borderline evangelical about helping people stop this debilitating habit.

I smoked for about 30 years and tried damn near everything. I finally tried the new battery operated vapor cigarettes and they worked great. I continued to smoke off an on for a few months but have not had a real cigarette since October 2009. There are several brands and you can get them online or at the mall. I get mine from www.nicotinenirvana.com. The Joye 510 has been the best for me.

I quit smoking back in December. One of those New Year resolutions. And to be honest I've had maybe a handful of cigarettes since then. And every time I light one up, it tastes like shit. So a few drags and I put it out.

Its been fairly easy for me to just stop and not have the urge. I replaced that habit with exercising.

I had a good friend that ,he and his wife, both smoked ....she wanted to quit ....but he loved it and didnt want to stop...she asked him to drive her to see a hypnotist ,which he did ...he sat in the hypnotic sesssion with her and laughed about it ...He stopped smoking immediately and she still smokes ...but what ever trips your trigger .....different strokes for different folks to help you stop ...T
My grandmother Quit smoking after 40 years by taking chantix. But it has some pretty bad side effects.
Day Three~

This still bites. I'm not gonna lie, I have cheated. I smoked two cigs yesterday and one this morning. They are my reward (one in the morning and one at night) to myself for making it all day/all night. In a few days I will stop doing that but right now it's keeping me sane, especially since I've had to be around my family.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement! It's going fairly well, IMO. I have lots of cinnamon gum and it seems to help, plus I exercise when I start jonesing.
Thanks! OXOXO ~me

You're going to be great in no time. Just keep it up and when you open the gates to your house, you will have a mob waiting to break in. Do we need to draw cards, or the short straw to win the chance to play first?

I need to try that shit myself. I'll just supplant all my smoke for booze and tootsie rolls soon .. I hear that dumb shit works. You'll get so drunk you'll forget how to smoke .. and who doesn't like tootsie rolls.

Keep up the fight yo.

Every time I think about a woman smoking; all I think about is this one chick. .. Eating smoke flavor pussy can surely traumatize a man.
I used Chantix to quit smoking. It's supposed to be a 90 day program, but I was done in 30 days. My insurance wouldn't cover the cost because they said it was still "experimental" at the time. It was definately the best 180 I ever spent. And while on the program, the dreams I had were extremely vivid. Originally Posted by DFW5Traveler

Also, FDA has decided to ban pilots and air traffic controllers from using Chantix, this action should be viewed as a clue to stop Chantix immediately.

On the contrary, a search to internationally recognized literature database revealed unsubstantiated few reports linking Chantix to suicide and few neuropsychiatric symptoms. It seems there was no conclusive evidence to suggest a causal relationship between Chantix and these symptoms. At best these literatures provided few theories.

What has been proven is that Chantix alter the bioavailability of dopamine and serotonin; both are involved in depression and other neuropsychiatric symptoms. Chantix also alters receptor affinity to these neurotransmitters. Also, I wouldn’t recommend herbal since herbal might have an effect on the levels of these neurotransmitters.

The vivid dreams can be an issue but the success rate for Chantix is extremely high. Almost everyone who has taken it would recommend it.

Other than that, it worked like a champ and I had some great dreams without taking something that would have popped me on a piss test

When taking the drug you are asked not to fight the urge to smoke. For me, the urges just simply vanished and within 3 weeks I forgot I had a half pack of smokes remaining. I tossed them out and haven't looked back.
There have been some well documented mood swing issues with a small percentage of Chantix and Wellbutrin users. If you try it, you need to be well aware of the possible side effects. It helps to have a friend around to help recognize if your mood swings are severe or if you develop episodes of rage or severe depression.

If orgasms are a trigger for wanting as cigarette, then I am your man. You can enjoy sex without the benefit of reaching orgasm. I can provide many references who have not "gotten theirs" when engaged in sexual congress with me. In other words, I am highly qualified to give you less than satisfying sex. Use me as you will. I do not mind. It is the selfless kind of person I am.
