George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States

Bush I was pretty clever in inviting Trump, I now realize. Every positive thing that was said about Bush reflected directly, and very poorly on Trump. I think Bush thought the only thing better than trashing trump in absentia at McCain’s funeral, was be to implicitly trash him to his face at Bush’s. Kind of a nice symmetry.

That’s probably why Trump sat there looking like he had a boil on his ass for the whole funeral. He didn’t know the Apostle’s Creed, didn’t put his hand over his heart when the flag draped coffin came by in the way in. Just generally acted like a turd in a punch bowl. People in Bush’s generation and from his social class know how to humiliate nouveau riche arrivistes. They’ve been doing it for hundreds of years.

It is doubtful Trump can read ... that might explain not reading the Apostle's Creed and hymns silence.
