Joe, you make sense, useful contribution. My youngest son's school suggested strongly he should take a test (at 14), the psychologist was just like a hooker, she wanted the fee up front, the final report didn't say anything we didn't know, just a cut and paste from previous reports with some words changed.
But another much older son was only diagnosed with dyslexia at 17 or so, and things could have been much easier if he had known earlier. Doing OK now, he is much better at verbal than written.
