Brazil gets it's ethanol from sugar cane a renewable crop.the idea of corn was a dumb one to start the experts told them you could not produce enough energy to put the crop in the ground and harvest it.It did give the farmers a better price for the crop.It also decreases fuel economy.A lot of our ethanol we use is imported from Brazil..
