Uh, WE, many Canadians hate their system, and Europe is realizing they can't afford it and are privatizing more services. Nice try. Originally Posted by CuteOldGuy

So produce a poll showing that many don't like their health care system- if 86% like it and 14% dislike it- I think you are being very ingenious to say "many" don't like it- 14% out of 100% would not be classified as "many".
WE: You think polls matter then here is the latest on Obamacare.

Last Friday, the Kaiser Family Foundation released the results of its recent survey of what Americans believe about Obamacare. Apparently Americans have heeded then Speaker Pelosi’s advice…we have to pass the bill before you can see what is in it.
They did, and we did.
…only 34% of respondents have a favorable view of the Affordable Care Act, down from 41% in September. Notably, the decline was due to losing Democratic supporters, who dropped to 52% from 65% month to month. Meanwhile, 51% of the public is opposed to the vast new government health-care entitlement, up from a prior 2011 average of 45%. [emphasis in original]
And then there is this poll,
[t]he current Real Clear Politics average of all health polling puts opposition at 50.6% and support at 38.4%, down from a summer high of 41.5%.
I am considering your bet; but if SCOTUS strikes down Obamacare, then I think Obama's chances of re-election are greatly improved....so if my 2nd prediction happens, then my 1st is less likely.

WW how sure are you if Obama not getting a 2nd term??? You have some post where you say he may win, but you doubt it- so to me that's uncertainty but let me call you out on your bluff- I will make a deal- I will bank on Obama being re-elected and whoever wins the bet- the loser must deactivate his account and if you want to go a step further- the loser pays for one session of the escort of his choice? Do we have a deal???? You remind me a lot of COG who said he had some "inside" sources that told him that Rick Perry will be the next POTUS I told him many times that Perry won't beat Obama and look where Perry now stands!!! WW also remember that I give the GOP credit they did a much better job demonizing Obamacare than the DEMS showing the good- I think most Americans saw so much of the media(town hall meetings) Tea party protest that they actually believe the Bill is bad- however as I stated it has some parts that need to be thrown out and some parts that should be kept- if you took a poll WW and asked Americans should insurance companies deny you for a pre- existing conditions most Americans would say No- most Americans would have no quarrel with covering seniors when they hit the donut hole- and most Americans like the idea of keeping their children on their plan until age 26- so there are some good things in Obamacare- to say the entire bill is bad is being dishonest.

C-SPAN asks Supreme Court to allow cameras for healthcare case

By Sam Baker - 11/15/11 04:53 PM ET

C-SPAN is asking the Supreme Court to drop its ban on cameras in the courtroom when it hears arguments over President Obama’s healthcare reform law.

The high court has scheduled five and a half hours of oral arguments in the healthcare case, the longest hearing in decades. The lengthy hearing serves to underscore what’s at stake as the Obama administration braces for the possibility that its signature domestic achievement could be ruled unconstitutional just months before the 2012 election.

“We believe the public interest is best served by live television coverage of this particular oral argument,” C-SPAN chief executive Brian Lamb said Tuesday in a letter to Chief Justice John Roberts. “It is a case which affects every American’s life, our economy, and will certainly be an issue in the upcoming presidential campaign.”

The Supreme Court has never allowed televised arguments. It releases transcripts for every case and audio recordings of high-profile arguments.

Lamb said allowing TV coverage of the healthcare arguments could be a one-time exception.

“We ask you and your colleagues to set aside any misgivings you have about television in the courtroom in general and permit cameras to televise live this particular argument,” he wrote.

Actually, I disagreed with the health care recommendations she mad to then President Clinton. I was wholly unimpressed. She didn't even allow for free mammograms even so breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women. Originally Posted by OliviaHoward

There is just no way I will ever agree 100% with any one let alone a politician.

I decide based on how I feel about the issue, not with a particular person or party. Sometimes, I find myself holding my nose and voting against someone because one person is more palatable than their opponent.

It's weird, when I was young and radical I was far more conservative than I am now. I think I've grown more tolerant of people and the plight of those that are less fortunate than me. Most people seem to get more conservative.

What Hilary would have done will not be known since she was not elected.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

IF THEY ARE GOING TO GET ALL THOSE FREEBIES, THE POOR NEED TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK.....IN EXCHANGE FOR WELFARE, I THINK THE POOR SHOULD AGREE TO BECOME SLAVES FOR A PERIOD OF TIME LINKED TO THE BENEFITS THEY RECEIVE.......THE GOVERNMENT CAN GET THE WELFARE MONEY BACK, AND THEN SOME, BY SELLING OR RENTING OUT THE WELFARE SLAVES TO RICH PEOPLE........
