I remember this. I think it went to the SCOTUS to rule whether a President could nullify a treaty ratified by the Senate. SCOTUS refused to hear the case, so the order stood.

We sold Taiwan down the river. But it's better we did, they ain't worth going to war over, are they.

Taiwan has done pretty good for its self. But if China wanted to invade and take them over, they would pretty much be on their own.
