Annual Chiefs thread/football thread
I luv KC but I also still luv my Saints!
Hard to love the Chefs tonight.
Just preseason but it was not good.
And, one of their starting front line is suspended 4 games for violating an NFL policy.
At least the cheer squad looked good.
Yes, and underpaid. Do you know of any who entertained UTR?
I was hoping that this was just 2nd string stuff. But it wasn’t. Even though Gaines is a rookie, way excessive penalties and an embarrassing burn for a TD. Can he really handle man to man? For the front line, Stephenson as a proposed starter had issues. And that ignores he’s about to start his 4 game suspension next week. Also, Harris isn’t supposed to drop the ball. In addition, over a doz penalties. I’m glad the beer was close and cold, with no drive home. On the bright side, Hammond did well and the Defensive line did well. But it takes a lot more than that. It will be interesting to see what Reid does with his depth chart in a couple days. There appears to plenty of holes to cover.

How bout those Chiefs? 0-2 to start. I thought they played Denver better than expected. Didn't think they'd win, but it was closer than I thought it would be.
Well some Vegas folks have moved the Dolphin's game to 5.5. Others have it at 4.5. I never argue with the Vegas folks.
Charles is out for a few weeks, and with a weak front line, I'm tempted to start a bracket on how many times grass stains end up on someones butt.

Hope I don't get in trouble for bumping an old thread, but the one thing I like watching more than the Chiefs winning is watching the Raiders lose. Saw this quote and had to share.
"Set my DVR to record "The Biggest Loser" but it just kept recording Raiders Football games."
At 0-8, I don't think they'll make the playoffs.
and we just need to beat Raiders, just like us to lose to an 0-9 team (it's happened)
then to beat Denver at home and we are in the game for the championship.
anybody done the math yet to decide who would get the western championship vs a wild card?
Hopefully this win will give the Chiefs the respect they deserve from those who thought this would be a "down" year. For the AFC West, I think Chiefs only need to worry about Denver. Denver's remaining schedule is fairly soft, but not a walk for them. Denver will wind up 12-4 at worst so Chiefs need to win out take the AFC West outright. I don't see them doing that.
If the Chiefs. also wind up at 12-4 (going 5-1 in remaining games) they would need a win over Denver and against Oakland twice and San Diego. That would give them the division championship based on W-L percentage in common games. Chiefs have beaten NE, Seattle & St. Louis who have all beaten Denver. If their 1 loss is to division team then Denver will win based off of division record.
As far as the wildcard. I think the only other teams the Chiefs need to worry about for the wildcard is Pittsburgh and Miami. If the Chiefs can go 4-2 over the remaining games they should lock up a wildcard spot. 3-3 might get them there with a 10-6 record.
Well then, the loser XChefs have decided they can't beat Denver so they get used to the rear tits by laying down to the Raiders who haven't beat any one in a full season... The Chefs are PATHETIC and when given the opportunity to have a shot at winning the division or at least making it close roll over and play dead.
Reid should give his last check to charity as an act of forgiveness as the XCHEFs just gave away the season by losing to the Raiders.
Wow !! I understand your frustration but this is the NFL .. Did you really think the Chiefs would be 7-4 after 11 games and in 2nd pl ? They had suspensions and several key injuries this year but still beat the SD, Patriots and Seattle and had the 49ers and the Donkeys on the ropes this yr after losing the first 2 games. Coach Reid has done a fabulous job this yr with the players he has and is 18-9 since he has been here over 2 yrs .. Thx Chiefs and Royals this is fun again !
Games like the last one is why it has been years and years since I gave a hoot how the chefs did.
