I owned a 65 Corvette 396 425hp ragtop that was an awesome car. Restored it then sold after owning for 15+ years. While the newer ones may be quicker and handle better, nothing ever came close to sound and feel from all that hp especially with the factory side pipes. Originally Posted by Hank_MoodyTotally agree.

I have something like $75,000.00 I paid for a 2007 corvette. I'm considering doing a 62 If I could convince myself I could do it with no maintenance issues, I may.62s are Pretty simple cars compared to today. Although some parts might be hard to come by. I know original Fuel Injection units and parts are sparse and expensive. But 327 parts are available if you go for the lesser engine. Most of what I’ve read is the Rochester Injection unit was very finicky and not worth it. The 327/340hp carb engine was the better choice.
A couple years into my 2007 the electronic door openers from the inside quit working, it did not have mechanical door openers, push button. I had to pop the back and crawl out the back to get out. I was able to have it fixed then but maybe not today. Point being when the 2007 is 20 years old you may not be able to get some parts or find someone who could fix it, I sold it with 1,200 miles on it. Originally Posted by Chase7
