I almost forgot another late-night host though he did not have guests; Rush Limbaugh. Originally Posted by the_real_Barleycornyes, he had a tv show version of his radio show. It did not succeed, it had a short run. I understand that there were problems with this type of radio tv show format.
the show executives who ran the show did not understand the format and tried to do what everyone was doing as SOP; run it like a news magazine format like 60minutes or something similar.
It wasn't until an Hannity interviewed Rush, the subject about his "late" radio tv show came up. Hannity told him that things had changed and that the host was in charge of what goes on in the show. apparently Hannity was a pioneer in this type of radio tv show format.
one thing tho. he wasn't a comedian as his show was news based rather than comedy based.
