Home Security cameras....

Sorry I digress...but seriously fake is ok but at the rate the market is going a fake cam that looks real costs nearly as much as a real cam itself...Just pay the extra buck to bank on the "you never know" rationale
A tangent to this. In Long Island, a local news crew drove around sniffing for wireless camera transmissions. They were able to see in bedrooms etc. broadcasting for all to see out on the street. It was on WABC-7 NYC. Maybe six months ago. Originally Posted by SR Only

its not illegal to do that, it IS illegal to connect and use. Scanning is equal to walking in front of your house and looking across the yard... connecting is walking into your house.

Hopefully you only get hit by a fake burglar. Originally Posted by Sa_artman

I've been guilty of tapping into a wireless net from the street or a house (or two) next door. There is a name for it that escapes me.

Sadly it cannot since most routers IF they have logging turned on, only capture the MAC address of the wireless network card which can be spoofed. That MAC address is like a VIN number, only it does not say who owns it, just the make and model of the card.

I would not encourage doing this as free legitimate hotspots are turning up everywhere.
