It's also contagious through sharing food and exposure to fecal matter, just less chance of contagion unless you have little kids which he did at the time. A simple search will also reveal that Hepatitis C is spread by direct contact with infected blood. It is not spread unless blood is present. A child is not at risk having casual contact with an infected person. Hepatitis C cannot be spread by hugging, kissing, handshakes, sneezing, coughing, or sharing household utensils (spoons, forks, bowls, glasses).
