Ten thousand might not be a large sum of money if you're making an investment like buying a house or a business.

However, ten thousand dollars just to enjoy an ephemeral carnal night of pleasure does sound like a substantial amount to me, but either you have Warren Buffet's money or more likely, just like to pretend to the board that you do.

I think that banks also signal that they consider 10 K to be a significant amount by virtue of the controls they have set in place to track certain accounts automatically when the inflows or outflows amounts exceed ten thousand dollars.

I think Spitzer was aware of those limits and tried to fly under the radar to avoid detection, but still flew too close to the limits and arose suspicions.

With his resources, he would have been wiser to have hired a trusted assistant who's job it was to set up appointments than to book them himself.

Did he get it right? I think Yes. The empotional component of an "affair" would have been harder to overcome with his spouse than the percieved non-emotional component of P4P. How much harder? I don't know. But harder. Originally Posted by Rudyard K

Either way his wife lost the luxury of dealing with this in private.

I am not trying to pretend shit. How well I do is not your or the boards business and I was not trying to make it so. Was that clear enough for you?

Temper!

The way you phrased your statement left the clear impression that you, not Spitzer could drop ten grand on some nooky without breaking a sweat.

I guess your response cleared up that misconception!

I'm sure Mrs. Spitzer, Mrs. Edwards, Elin Woods, and Mrs. Sanford all felt their SOs were not cheating on them...up to the moment they found out otherwise. The same could happen to you. I sincerely hope it doesn't, but to say that it never has belies reality, IMHO.
