The draft...

At this point in his career, Manziel reminds me of Roger the Dodger. Roger won the Heisman his junior year and played Texas for the national championship in the 64 Cotton Bowl. Texas spanked his butt. Funny, but you never hear much about his senior year at Navy. They didn't do much. A lot of the really good players were seniors the year before and graduated and left Roger with a pretty green team.

Most don't even realize that Dallas drafted Roger after that junior year in the 64 draft. Roger graduated from the Naval Academy in 65........in the 15 round I think. The pick caused an uproar........but Gil Brandt knew the rules and pulled a fast one.
Roger was pretty cocky, like Manziel. The 5 years in the Navy and a year in
Vietnam really matured Roger. When he finally got to the Cowboys full time, he was no longer cocky, but extremely confident. I don't think Manziel will have a chance to get mature.

Russell Wilson is on the short side but the issue is style, not height, IMHO. He uses his team assets much more effectively than Tebow or Manziel. Originally Posted by Lust4xxxLife

Another old timer that Manziel reminds me of is Fran Tarkenton.........a lot of helter skelter.

Not to say he won't be just that he put up some great numbers against suspect defenses in a shortened season.

And let's throw RGIII into the mix as a not so successful young mobile QB. And we know what happened to Tebow.

Foles replaced a mobile QB Vick.

You never can tell with Cleveland...lol...Johnny may be the perfect fit. As always, time will tell...

RGIII, yes he can be marked as not as successful but lets not kid ourselves. Kid had major knee surgery before his second year.

Replaced Vick, ummm, reach there. Vick is at the end of his career.

Are the Chargers still in the NFL?
Montana on Kap and mobile QBs in general...
I like his mobility and that he's getting the ball downfield. But sometimes, he needs to be more accurate in the pocket with pressure. The game is changing. Nobody wants to throw with pressure anymore. But the guys who can win in this league are the ones who can make throws from the pocket.
Kaepernick still needs to get better at that. He'll look and then he's off and running. I still think the thing is the pocket and making those tight throws from the pocket...He'll make some...but a lot of times guys are wide open, and he misses them.
