Thus the accumulated wisdom of 320+ years of Western thought and the edifice that is modern microeconomics are casually brushed away.

Mocha mentioned not lowering rates because it's well known that ladies will lower their rates to get more business and unless they're rates are just crazy -assed high, it's not going to make a difference.

When I lowered my rates a couple of years ago from $250 to $200, well there was a difference but I also started advertising on other sites and changed my business plan. But it was still a rather extreme change and I almost wish that I had never done that.

A LOT of ladies, especially the young ones who don't have a lot of experience, will try to go lower and lower with their rates and that just isn't an effective way of garnering more business.

So Mocha ... rock on!

Yes, it is odd that the original poster hasn't responded. ALL of these comments have been well meaning. It's been a good topic!

Oh well.

EW and lisa gave good advice....try other things to supplement and tour..... don't lower your rates tho. Originally Posted by MOCHAakaMOCHA

It's one thing to have a great website and know how to write good ads but it's another thing when all your reviews are stellar, you have a classy website, stunning photos and good business and BCD skills. Let's face it the rates, pics, websites gets the date but what hooks the guys is attitude and performance.

I started at $250 and business was more than I could handle then raised my rates to $275 and still wayy more than I can handle. $300 an hour was great for a while but after more reviews started to pop up and inquiries came in, I dropped the hourly rate and now have a 2 hour minimum.

I second what others have said especially when it comes to starting a blog. It's amazing the newbies that I have seen from my blog alone and I'm telling you these are not your typical $250 an hour hobbyists but guys that are genuinely interested in who you are as a person and will do whatever it takes to see you even if it means flying you to their home city for an all day date.

To be successful in this business, you have to know your market.

Don't charge high rates if all your pics are taken in a dirty bathroom, your tampon string is showing, your hair is a mess, you can't write good english, you can't speak clear enough english, you NCNS constantly and then bitch about it being the client's fault (one NCNS is unacceptable), you list your number but don't answer your phone when a suitor calls (email only is the way to go if you can't answer your phone), you don't respond promptly to emails, you have filled your website with tacky graphics that have nothing to do with the services you provide, you write on your ads that you are available 24/7 and won't answer the phone at 4am because you are sleeping (see ? makes no sense to even write that), you don't know how to dress like a normal human being when going to a hotel (just because you're a "hooker"/"escort", doesn't mean you have to look like one) and last but not please for the love of man, if you offer specials today to a client, honor them forever. Do not complain because he will not pay your new rate. Trust me I wouldn't either! I ain't paying more for what I have already had for half the price. This business is just like any other business.

Also don't post bathroom pics with the toilet seat up - kind of a turnoff for some of us...
What is something really worth? Is a cheesburger worth $12.50? Well, if you're stuck on the 23rd floor of the x Hilton when a convention breaks, yes, it is. If you're on you're own free time drivin' around your town, hell no, no cheeseburger is worth $12.50.

Something is worth what you're willing to pay for it, when you need/want it. All the fine china or plastic box marketing jive is just that. I believe most hobbyists won't pay way over the going rate even if that thing was lined with gold except to prove a point to themselves or someone else. Cinderella is not out there for any price, so we're back to what's a xxx worth? What someone will pay for it, and are you willing to walk a bunch of people and keep you're xxx or do want to get rid of it?

As far as providers go, with a renewable resource like p*ssy you just have to decide how much do you want/need for it and how often do want to use it. Somebody will always be higher, somebody will always be lower. You decide.

And for consumers its the same. If you don't need a $12.50 cheeseburger, take a cold shower and get a good buy on what you want.

Plumbers aren't worth what they charge. either....until your house is full of watery shit and you can't figure out how stop it. The best thing is not to let your taste for pink get or your need for income to get that out of control and price won't be an issue.

What Naomi said. When I found out how much, I almost cried!
The economy has made me more selective in who I see and how much I pay. I didn't want to stop seeing ladies, but i did need to budget how much to spend. Before I was more compulsive. Took more chances on providers and spent more freely.

If you got more business at the old price point, think about going back to it.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the supply and demand side of the hobby market. I've seen a fair punt of spinners come in to the market at a similar price point. Now it could be marketing, or it could be service. I haven't seen the OP, but I dont see a differentiating reason to pick her over someone else.

Sex is like gas, people will always pay for it, but some won't get premium gas and will drive less in certain patches. I've been trying to be smart and store up hobby funds so I can get more fore less, but for me, it's for about location and timing.

Some random thoughts, but let it marinate...
Why? Because frankly most of the girls on this board are average or below average in terms of looks and sexual ability and they are charging the same price as much more attractive/skilled providers over on Eros.

Then look at the average board member here, they aren't exactly too well off fiscally.

Everyone seems to try and be so polite on this thread its just silly, thats the honest truth in my opinion
