as there wer 5-6 auditoriums on campus, the various student groups showed lots of great classic movies - fellini, bergman, kurosawa, eastwood’s spaghetti westerns, bogart, hepburn, graduate, catch-22, mash, dr strangelove, citizen kane, etc. and of course stoner movies like cheech & chong’s and reefer madness. all for $1-2 a movie.

Used to work at a place that rented betas and vhs machines in the 80s. I was shocked at how many people used to forget and return them with porn vids in them. They would never come back to claim them, so the collection grew rather large. When I was a freshman in college in the early 80's, I was having a conversation with a couple of guys and one local mentioned he had run across his father's stash of 8mm porn films in the garage.

None of us had seen a real porn before. One guy mentioned an 8mm projector could easily be checked-out from the college library with a college ID. "I am curious yellow", a Swedish "art film" at a theatre in east Dallas. It was the summer of 1962 and I was a college kid working for the summer. I drove all the way across Dallas/Fort Worth to get to the theatre because I was terrified at the thought of seeing somebody I knew. What a disappointment! The biggest moment in the movie was a blurred nude girl running through the woods. Somewhere in there, though, Candy Barr came on the scene and she was a lush blonde who loved to show it off and star in the original 50s Dallas fuck movies.
