I didn't ask for monthly calculations are you trying to imply I can't afford a house on the northside? Originally Posted by Dorthy_Monroe

When you look for a house to rent they always have the monthly payment they expect so really you just tried to explain something that was useless but wanted to feel as if you were doing something useful.. But thanks

When I lived in Texas, I bought a house on Tiki Island. I enjoyed they hell out of it and the commute to Houston wasn't bad. The only thing I hated was the $9000 per year in property tax.
Har.com is going to have the best info. Zillow and redfin are ok too but har is where you want to research. Goodluck!

It was worth it. Living on the water with easy access to the bay. I hated to sell it. I fished damn near everyday and surfed when the waves were up in a Galveston.

Now I run the family ranch in Australia full time. I went from one extreme to the next.

HAR has actual listings (MLS listings) by Realtors. Realtor.com gets its information from HAR.

Zillow/Trulia/Postlets feed off of HAR and they also allow home owners to put their houses up for rent for free on there.

Estimated monthly rent of a house is 1% of the value of the house, so lets say a house cost $200,000 in the northside/champions area, then expect to pay for rent $2,000 with one month deposit and non-refundable background/credit score check. Originally Posted by frankocean187

When using sources like zillow, trulia, postlets and other places online, the renter can be scammed.

For you ignorant people - it is like using backpage when you can use Eccie.

And sure as hell no did DM put me in my place. So go fuck off you faggot white knight

HAR and Zillow work great..... I have several friends that have rental houses and that is what they often use when they can't find someone via word-of-mouth, which is their preferred method of getting a new tenant.

You are most certainly correct about the cost of renting in the city of Houston as opposed to outlying areas. This is especially true if you want to get something that is inside the 610 loop. Part of the reason for the high rents, beyond the obvious supply@demand is the skyrocketing values that the county has assigned to properties in the greater Houston area for tax purposes. There is not much that can be done about this.

I will ask my friends if they have or know of anything on the North side of know of any and letcha know.

Happy hunting
