Many years ago, I was talking with a female acquaintaince who was in some fairly serious trouble. She said something, which I won't repeat, and I suddenly realized that I was right on the edge of breaking that rule. I backed away, carefully.
Sometimes there comes a time when you have to admit that you no longer live in the country you grew up in, even though your geographic location has not changed. At that point, your choices are limited: bug out, and save yourself and maybe your friends, or stay, and watch everything you believe in go down the toilet. While I agree *IN* *PRINCIPLE* that you should at least try to save the world, the fact remains that you are likely heavily outnumbered and outgunned by people who want nothing less than your complete and utter destruction at their hands, and Discretion is indeed sometimes the better part of Valor.
