Provider Ads--What Pulls You In or Pushes You Away?

I like when they explain these are "actual photos" this assures me I'm not hallucinating, JK.
All good points here. Looks (as I perceive them) and solid reviews by like minded people do it for me.
I second Bobster36 and DukeofG. I'll add - If face pic is provided, a smile makes a difference.
Where is that thumbs up sign you see on facebook.

That is pretty cool, and I don't see too many of those ( pics in public).

Thanks for the fresh idea.

I agree with what others have said here regarding real, recent and candid pictures, or as I like to call it "proof of life", a concept which takes it a step further. What pulls me in is seeing real, recent and candid pictures, particularly if they are taken in public places that can be identified as an actual location in the DFW area (that is NOT at/near your incall, which would be be attracting the wrong kind of attention to your incall area).

Example: A candid picture of you at a well known local bar or restaurant, sports venue or city landmark. This tells me that you are [A] a real, actual 'regular' person and not a picture of a pornstar, model or amatuer flasher that will be found on TinEye and [b] that you are actually and currently in the DFW area and not a picture (taken off the web) of someone else who may be a real gal, but who is actually located in any area but DFW. This "proof of life" assumes you are already posting other face pictures and is especially useful if you are new to town or to the hobby scene.

But as Dennis Miller used to say, "Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong." Originally Posted by Kid a

"ECCIE verified provider!" or something similar. Almost better than a water mark and your photos won't be stolen and used off this site.

No clear face pics? No thanks.
Have my face on a website, forever labelling me as a prostitute long after I'm gone? No thanks.

Remember –– the data we're putting on the Internet today will be used by more advanced applications in the near future. Tineye is just an example of the tip of the iceberg. Shazzam is the audio equivalent but it's all just the same kind of bit pattern scanning.

My advice to all who may want to plan for the future is this:

1. Don't post a compromising photo with your face in it that you wouldn't want your kids/friends/family/boss to be able to search in a few years. Stop now. If you can take down the pictures that are posted, do it.

2. If you post a clear picture of your face, do so in a separate conservative picture that you would be happy posting anywhere. That way if anyone ever does a face rec search, you can always take the position that someone copied your pic from a facebook page, or something like that. Leave yourself an out.

I'm not trying to suggest how anyone should run their business, just providing some input and recommendations. Some seriously good facial recognition software is going to start rolling out over the next few years.

I definitely understand the sentiment tho.
Rates and Age
To get my business:

Be different. I recently saw a provider whose ad was written in poetry form, and quite well.

Tease me....don't hit me over the head with foul language.

Be concise. And, be accurate. We know what GFE means. We assume you do as well.

Tell me what separates you from the more than 400 other p411 providers in the DFW area.

To lose my business:

WrITe LIkE ThIS wHen posTINg youR Ad

Tell me YMMV. You're kidding right? Same price, different service? No thanks.

Bad spellers won't get a call from me especially if we're talking about words you should have learned by third grade.

And, chances are if you aren't a p411 member, It'll be less likely that I will call you.
gOOd sUbJecT........LOL! 20 plus TATS...I'm goNe!

Aside from the obvious attraction, it's actually how articulate the provider is.

Intelligence, by way of grammatical prowess is a significant factor in my personal decision making. wHiCh iS wHy i'Ll nEvEr aNSweR an Ad lIkE tHiS.

Pulls me in -

(1) Clean, simple text. A photo or two that is not a butt shot.

(2) Link to a P411 page - I gave up on trying to maintain reference years ago.

(3) Screening requirements mentioned - All good providers screen their clients.

(4) An advertisement that is _not_ on Backpages or Craig's List.

Pushes me away -

(1) Low rates - quality doesn't come cheap. Also, I don't want to stand in line behind a dozen other guys.

(2) Ads that are too sexually suggestive - every great provider that I have known has been discreet.

(3) Photos that look too professional and retouched.

(4) Photos that look like digitized copies of old film-based photos.

(5) ECCIE or other board membership accepted as screening. - WTF? Screening through an anonymous identity that is easy to obtain?

(6) An advertisement that is on Backpages or Craig's List. Originally Posted by edm_fw
