Charles Koch, one of the Koch brothers, would be my top pick. As far as people who could realistically win, Bill Gates and Michael Bloomberg would be good choices, better than any of the top contenders right now, although I doubt they'll run. I think he/she is. I think the DNC elders are Squamish about Biden. He clearly doesn’t have it. The rest of the contenders are too far left. Sanders, Warren and Harris don’t have broad appeal in fly over country. I always thought Bloomberg would emerge sooner or later.

Clinton entering the race would be a worst case disaster for the Democrats. she was a terrible candidate then, she's worse now. the DNC will do what they can to keep her out of the race. I think Bill would discourage her from it, mostly to spare her the humiliation again. And less noble, because he doesn't want his own dirt thrown in his face again. and they have a lot of dirt.


Bloomberg is an interesting possibility. his deep pockets let him easily catch up if he gets in. He can buy tons of ad's. Not sure how that would play for Bloomberg press, it would certainly appear as biased but he owns it anyway so why not? Besides there are plenty more media outlets that would take his checks. Bloomberg can't run as an Indy because it plays against his Democrats.


Bill Gates doesn't want to be President. People speculated on that when he retired from Microsoft but it didn't happen. He left Microsoft to focus on his foundation and he knows that every company has to survive past it's founder(s). He left Microsoft at a high point and it has remained strong so far. his foundation means more to him as a legacy than being President.


Same for Cuban. He'd rather run the Mavs and being President would take that away. I don't think Cuban has enough animosity towards Trump to let go of his businesses to run. He's said that Trump's candidacy opened up Politics. Trump is unfiltered and says what he thinks. Cuban found that a refreshing change from the staid and bland political speak that permeated Politics before.


Steyer also has the deep pockets to get in and put his money in play. He does have to shill for contributions (makes me laugh every time i see one of his ad's on YouBoob) because he can't buy his way into the debates on his money alone. He's got to make the donor criteria. I don't think he will. Leaves him with only the Indy route and while his money can be a big factor there any Indy candidate plays into Trump and the Republican's court. Same with Shultz.


Charles Koch is too old. He's 83 and is a life long Republican, though i'm sure he has supported some Democrats when it suited his business interests. Koch won't run. If he tries to challenge Trump for the Republican nomination i don't think he can win. Democrats know he's a conservative Republican so he can't change his spots and "convert" to being a Democrat, and as an Indy he hurts the Republicans and quite possibly puts a firebrand socialist in the White House. He certainly does not want that.
