In fact I walked around in Clarksville when it was SEGREGATED and the people who lived there were not allowed to swim in West Enfield Pool on West Enfield Road ... and the folks in Clarksville could catch the bus down on West Lynn and transfer to a bus on Lake Austin Blvd to go down to 6th and Congress to transfer again!!! They sat in the back....fyi... I sat with them, cuz there was seats!!!

Not only were the NOT ALLOWED to sit at the Nau's ENFIELD Drug store soda fountain when the came in, but they were not allowed to sit at the soda fountain in Woolworths down at 6th & Congress.

Nau's Enfield Drug IS NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF CLARKSVILLE ....

Isn't it "odd" that a drug store is called NAU'S ENFIELD DRUG and not NAU'S CLARKSVILLE DRUG if it sat "in the middle of Clarksville" and isn't it even more incredible that a "drug store" located "in the middle of an Black community wouldn't allow Blacks to sit at the soda fountain. Now even more "unusual" is that the property owners and drug store owners don't claim "Historical Privileges" and take advantage of grants and tax breaks (of which the City of Austin is nationally known) if their property and business sat "in the middle of Clarksville" which is a designated historical location with the accompanying benefits. .....
