Yes, but Russia already has their enemies a foot across the border in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, all NATO members and Russia did not twitch. One of the problems we have is our schools do not cover much in the way of European history.

These countries do not have the luxury of two huge oceans separating them from their historic enemies.

I say historic because from a Russian point of view, it has only been 81 years since one of the NATO countries, Germany, tried to wipe out or enslave their population.

And just over 150 years ago when another NATO country, France, tried to do the same thing.

These old nationalistic prejudices do not die easily.

Israel could and should have kept land they conquered in wars started by various Arab nations like Egypt and others allied with Egypt like Syria. every time the Israelis kicked these punk Arab's asses. yet they eventually gave it back which is nearly unheard of in the concept of "the spoils of war". they did it as a goodwill gesture. and it was nothing but sand anyway. not even any oil there.

The current group of "history rewriters" didn't take much history in the beginning, so unlike finger painting with which they substituted the "learning experience," they believe they can begin a "new" history of the World (and the U.S.) with their fairy tales.
