That's a myth. Home schooled kids don't typically have problems with social skills because of church activities. They also tend to socialize with other home schoolers.I will say that I am less dubious of home schooling than I was when it first became hip, because of progressive groups that provide the opportunities for kids to socialize during their formative years, like arts and athletic programs. Couple of kids on our block were home schooled. However, neither of them could stay in the middle school in which they were enrolled because of behavioral issues.

They kept pretty much to themselves. But for them, home schooling was the only real option.
That said, I still believe that home schooling is more a reflection of a parent's rather than a child's needs. And I didn't see any particularly brilliant faculty members, so to speak.
