Trump blasts California governor's plan to halt executions

California's death row is a virtual Who's Who in the capital crime crowd.

I don't believe in the death penalty because it is not administered fairly. Period.

That being said, these men, and women, should rot in prison, preferably solitary confinement, for the rest of their lives.

I believe that we are all flawed, and each of us can make mistakes. That includes the judicial system. But we try to trust our legal system as fair, and to protect the community. I want to view the death penalty as a deterrent, but it fails in that regard. I'm not sure I want to underwrite the needs of a serial murderer when he/she is in prison. I remain perplexed by the death penalty, yet I always feel a twinge of sadness when I read about the "state" executing someone.

Some say that the death penalty is not a deterrent.

Maybe if they lined them all up and actually started implementing their extermination it would have an impact.

In the old days they hung them 3 days after their sentencing.

I'm sure this is some of the innocent people you speak of TM...

When it comes to the people exonerated on DNA evidence that is excellent...but what happens when a killer swears he is innocent and the bleeding hearts cry you murdered an innocent man...This from the body of the story.
The case had been closely watched by both sides in the death penalty debate because no executed convict in the United States has ever been exonerated by scientific testing.

Please show me JUST ONE case were they executed an innocent person...and they have the DNA proof...again TM what innocent people are being killed?
So much for you and...they're executing innocent people...YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR STUFF...as usual!!

problem with that it takes years to find this and it won't bring back the innocent.

you're dealing with misconduct with the lawyers and police in the justice system in the way they handle evidence, some things are not equal.

If you're going to execute someone, there should be a high standard for it and too many states have a standard where using circumstantial evidence leads a to a conclusion "he prolly" did it instead of "he definitely did it".

So the technicalities of the law go both ways.
So what is your answer to the killers??

Make them public too. It's one thing to know the consequences of your actions. It completely different to see the consequences.
actually this is the beauty of having 50 separate states

people of like minds can flock together and sink or swim together, as long as the federal government never falls for the idiocy of bailing out a state, which is the logical extension of socialism

and the criminals can likewise decide where to kill people

one "fix" for the death penalty might be limit appeals to state supreme courts for state convictions although that could bump up against the bill of rights if claims are made regarding violations of brady or whatever
