If your company fired you for not getting the shot….

I think there have been less than 50 deaths attributed to COVID in the Army.

There’s some Marine generals out there telling the DOD to fuck off and if they try’n force their Marines to take the jab that they should come armed. Hopefully it spreads.
Blackman, We know where LexusLover stands on this, so this question is for you. Say you owned a gym and for some reason didn’t have liability insurance. You have to make a decision as to whether to require staff to get vaccinated. It’s not feasible to get customers to wear masks.

Would you be more concerned about getting sued by staff for the vaccine requirement, or sued for exposing them to COVID if they’re not required to get vaccinated and end up in the hospital?

I figure the chances of dying from COVID are over 1000x greater than the chances of dying from the vaccine. But does that matter? Dow Corning went bankrupt because of false claims about its silicone breast implants. I think the same thing happened to some companies that were only peripherally related to asbestos useage. So I’m not sure reality matters as much as how easy it is to convince a jury, or just scare the crap out of the defendant so he settles. Originally Posted by Tiny

marxist DPSTs do love their mandates, controls, lockdowns, and forcible bending the peoples to their own whims and rules.

Does "judgment proof" sound familiar? The limits of a "gym's" liability policy for NEGLIGENCE (try to find one for intentional torts) wouldn't cover the damages for the death of an employee with dependent children.

As for the "right to work" .... it sounds like you actually believe that protects the employer from an intentional tort claim? I'm not sure what law school you attended, but Obaminable went to Harvard and it didn't do him much good either. Still isn't!

As to whatever you think your point is, you’re still as wrong as in the earlier posts. An employer telling their employee to get the vaccine or they will be terminated isn’t “negligence” by any definition. The D&O would protect the company and the owner from any suit against them but any suit would be dismissed. Further, as I’ve stated in numerous threads before, discrimination in the good ole US of A is quite legal as long as the reason for the discrimination isn’t due to a very limited number of reasons set forth in statute. Vaccination status isn’t an unlawful discrimination so an employer can feel free to discriminate at will.

As I said before, you have no clue what you’re talking about on either the insurance side or the tort side.

To Gnadfly...my father never went to Afghanistan, but was completely paralyzed polio in his mid thirties because he didn't take the vaccine. Miserable life til he died. Cause of you inlaws problem is indeterminate by your own statement, so why jump to a conclusion that it is vaccine related as opposed to chemical exposure, contaminated water, etc., overseas?

1BM is correct regarding employer mandates.

Check TB for a precedent...healthcare has required for years. I don't have time to research, but I recall that those with TB could once be forced to go to sanitariums.

Too many people with political objectives, but no fundamental knowledge of subject matter (usual suspects) opining here.
