Thank you for the reasoned reply. I can see where you could consider it "fleeing" as well, even though I don't consider it to that level, but more of a calulated approach to their retirement.

And there weren't getting "socialized medicine" in Mexico .... or any other "socialistic" benefits. So connecting the migration South to any "socialistic politics" is ridiculous.

Since the Republic of Mexico had a treaty with Nazis Germany during WWII and the country was a "haven" for fleeing Nazis to avoid prosecution and persecution post WWII it is worthy of evaluating the significance of any "socialist" claims in those countries south of our borders.
