The attorney is seeking permission for a $100 million lawsuit on behalf of a student who survived the Newtown, Conn., school shooting.

With all due respect have you ever actually worked inside a public school system .. in the schools? Originally Posted by LexusLover

I have yet to see you make any suggestions that would ensure the outright security of children or staff if they encounter a situation like this or prevent the situation that happened. Instead you just seem to be an expert of poking holes in others arguments without providing any supporting material for your platform of thought.

Skylar is correct. The only way to have high security against ALL possibilities would be so restrictive no one would tolerate them and the cost would be unsustainable.
Don't let them outside for recess.

You were seeing someone in a "thread"? Or were you "seeing" your ex's "42yo" tort lawyer.

Did you have a lawyer? Originally Posted by LexusLover

Yes, make the school a prison. No one ever gets killed in prison. Why do democrats keep getting in the way of tort reform like in the Obamacare bill.

We should arm everyone against stupid lawsuits. It is called loser pays. If you have a good case it is still easy to go to court since you can buy an insurance policy to cover you in case you loose. The insurance policy is cheap if you have a good case. Originally Posted by Laz

I have no idea what this guy is doing. Sounds like an awfully tough case. But if it lacks merit, and it may well do so, the school cam get it dismissed.

No one will or can "ensure the outright security of children or staff if they encounter a situation like this or prevent the situation that happened" and to propose their solution can is fraud. But just because no one, including you, can offer a viable solution to do so does not mean that an effort can be made to IMPROVE existing systems ...

ALL "systems" on paper are tested by the reality and not the hype ... now that the "system" in Connecticut has been shown not to work it is time to "re-design" ... what was apparently missing were police officers trained for school environments AND perimeter security to assure that people coming to the campus are restricted and screened prior to coming into the facility where students and staff are housed.

As for "ideas" the media is full of them, because other school districts are currently announcing their reviews of their existing sytems for school security.

Are you in favor of the "prison system" solution as you proposed?
