Do dreams come true

Dreams are the subconscious running around. They do not come true.

My opinons...

Dreams do come true, but dreams can change and dreams can end. You can "live the dream," but when you start to feel obsessive (or the focus of obsession) or stalk-y (or stalked), it's time to wake up. Originally Posted by emptywallet

I hear about it happening all the time and had friends that ended up being more than just client/provider, and it usually ends like any other relationship. Since this is the only dating that I'm doing at the moment I have 0% chance of meeting a potential partner outside of the hobby, but I'm really not looking for a long term relationship so this pay as you go plan suits me just fine.

I am not talking about one dating a married man here.
So ladies, you met a really HOT guy through this hobby, he's sweet and has all the qualities
YOU look for in a guy, you would pass up on him because he's a hobbyist? Hmmmmmm.
Last year I would have said no but --- I now have a change of heart.
Yeh, I can see the sequal now. Two years later, he catches her turning tricks on Rodeo Drive in the back of his limo, or she catches him cruising ECCIE for chicks with a real ass and not a "ass double" as ole Julie had to have in the movie.

IMHO, every person has their own "fairy-tale," or as PUK put it, their own dream. And I think those dreams not only go far beyond reality, but can never be realized. Nobody, but nobody, gets the fairy-tale. Reality intrudes on the fairy-tale.

IMHO, this is one of the reasons why there are so many divorces. Little girls are reared to believe they will fall head over heels in love with a white knight. And we all know that in these little girls' minds, WKs are perfect in all respects. And after the little girl grows up and gets married, she finds out her WK is not perfect (in multiple respects), and she becomes disillusioned. She rejects and divorces him because he doesn't meet her "fairy-tale." Well, no man could meet the high bar that her mind has set up for the fairy-tale. She never really gave the guy she married an honest chance because she never tried to make it work. She never realized he was human and came with feet of clay. In her eyes, he was supposed to be perfect.
CT2005 you are very close to disclosing the truth. First the word love is used to cover too much ground. Love, that is true love, is best understood as reality of choice and decision. Then I select the word romance for the emotional thing. The romance will never last. I don't know of anyone who always feels like they are in love all of the time once the reality has set in. Being human romance happens. What is being discussed here for the most part is the different ways to deal with it. Love carries a relationship during the times of romantic lows.

A simple way to understand it is that love is like the cake, fruit, nuts and whatever you may find there. Romance is the frosting. Each is good. It is truly great when both exist.

All I'm saying is that there are good SINGLE guys in the hobby - there are also douchebags and in some cases that is why they have to pay for it. I see nothing wrong with dating a SINGLE hobbyist if there is a mutual genuine connection between both parties. The guy can't be in it for free sex and the girl can't be in it because he's some multi-millionaire politician. In such situations, time usually reveals a person's true agenda anyway. I say it can work. Afterall we are still human beings here with feelings and not robots. I have never looked at my clients as Human ATMs and I never will. Have I even fell in love with one? No. Maybe never.... However, there is one guy that I am particularly fond of.
