Unless you’re a knife sharpening god, you’ll never put a TRUE razor-sharp edge on anything with the type of grinding you mentioned in your first post.good to know sir! maybe i will try your system to compare and contrast. by the way, i am certainly no god! i saw a vid with the guy holding his axe in his left hand and sharpening with a diamond blade on his grinder in his right. not my 1st choice by a long shot! he may be the god you speak of..
My two sharpening systems are a TS Prof K03 and a Tormek T8. I wish I had the dexterity/touch to be able to manually sharpen blades effectively using stones, but I don’t. The only part of the sharpening process that I’m good at is leather stropping (which doesn’t take much skill). Originally Posted by Bowser98

actually i can get the same functionality with my grinder using:
a. clamps;
b. the correct blade for what you're doing;
c. tape; and
d. a pretty steady hand, but no match for Haphaestos' godly hand..
