Damn... What in the hell is wrong with this board??? The girl is asking for information about coming to New Orleans for I'm assuming the first time and this board has wasted two pages without one simple helpful answer to her post. Nothing but a bunch of bickering and STUPID SHIT!!!

Ash 1102, if you use good judgement, screen well and come to N. O. with expectations of enjoying a great city, I am sure you will have a great time and meet some great guys.

If you are staying in the French Quarter area you should of course go to Cafe Du Monde for beignets and coffee. A couple restaurants I like in the quarter are Deanie's, Johnny's Po Boys, Acme Osyter Bar (grilled oysters)... Take a walk on the riverfront, see Jackson Square... lots of neat architectural sites in the area.

Just like ANY big city; be safe, stay aware of your surroundings... especially at night.

Also, I do't think you would go wrong visiting Baton Rouge for a couple nights... Bluebonnet Blvd., Essen lane areas or Downtown. Hope this has helped a bit.
If you still decide to come to New Orleans there is plenty to do.

The gentleman that just posted above me give you some great reference points to start. There's also Frenchmen Street for some great music.. You can go to Blue Nile or Snug Harbor.

There's also a place called Dat Dog and they have really good hot dogs. Do not eat on Bourbon Street lucky dog that's just an FYI. LOL

Also there's the Steamboat Natchez. You could take a Riverboat Cruise 2 hours up if you like the river on the dinner cruise.

You will enjoy the scenery as well and learn a little bit of history about our city.

Also there's mother's which is also a great restaurant on the corner of Poydras. It is very very good.

If you want to have a great breakfast there's a couple of places you can do the Ruby Slipper. There's one on Canal, one off Magazine off canal, 1 in Mid City and one in the Marigny...

Also they have Camellia Grill which is very good also for breakfast.

They have plenty of things to do they have the Riverwalk which is been recently updated in the last couple of years. .

They have Harrah's Casino if you like to gamble.

There's plenty to do just be mindful that you can get lost down here if you don't know the city so I suggest getting you a street map. I hope you come and enjoy yourself.

Also if you're coming here on a work trip just be mindful you need to screen all of your clients just as if you would in any other City. I hope this helps make your decision to come visit our wonderful City a little bit easier

Sincerely,
M.M.
Come to BR if you can please!

Thanks Melissa... That is what this board is supposed to be about!!!
If u like BBQ there is a new place Central City BBQ that is fantastic! I'll take you there if you PM me!
Also there is a great barbecue place called "The Joint", it is in Bywater. , they were featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives a few years ago with Guy Fieri...
We have too many great places to name everything there's also another restaurant Uptown call Atchafalaya it's off of Louisiana Avenue. And it is kind of an upscale breakfast place breakfast and brunch I should say.

Maybe you'll be so kind and help her out BR-8
I was totally thinking the same thing. Since "stop blasting your exact location for every single city you plan on visiting" doesn't qualify as a simple helpful answer, maybe one of these chivalrous gents can help out this very distressed damsel.

I'm not sure how offering her tips on where to dine in a safety threAD is more helpful than offering her safety advice. But she clearly needs more than recommendations on where to get beignets and BBQ...

Lol....You're right! Nobody bothered to warn her to not go down dark sidestreets, if someone tells her they can bet her where she got her shoes to ignore and keep walking, and for goodness sake DO NOT wear open toed shoes because that puddle on Bourbon probably isn't water lol Originally Posted by captjackno

HELL NO!!!!!! lol!! AND ndever wear high heels in the Quarter!!!

I do VERY well working in Nola....no drama/no lowballers/no problem clients/no hateful providers.......Hell I even turned down 6 appointments on my last visit due to no time for partying on Bourbon St.!!!!........I have been involved in the Nola scene over 10 years and NEVER had a problem with gents/providers or LE.

AND when I lived here I did quite well too....I have found the providers & gents to be some of the best on the board!!

I call Nola my "safe place"...It is where I have the most damn fun! I get to party with sexy sweet men AND party on Bourbon Street!

Now back to the OP...never ever tell where you are....jjust say a general area.......also screen guys every way you can.....and get involved in a good way on the boards....build a commraderie with other providers........and the most important thing is
"DO RIGHT TO NOLA & IT WILL DO RIGHT TO YOU"!

It prolly means something now since you said It Dallas but when myself and Lena D. gave advice on not to mention the exact location It wasn't seen as giving her any good safety advice.

IMO I say 'safety 1st' then the chick can be given all those eateries to go eat 2nd

Thanks for giving the good advice DR
