Not that I'd call any of these "holes in the wall," but I agree with Jimmy's, and Mai's. There is also an excellent Thai restaurant in the neighborhood -- Bangkok City. I think it's the best overall Thai restaurant in town.

Taqueria El Si Hay on Davis is pretty good. So is El Ataron on Henderson.

Not a hole in the wall, either, but also less known and under appreciated is Royal Sichuan, at 400 N. Greenville in Richardson. Very inconvenient and very far north, at least by my standards, but excellent food.

Man, this thread is making me hongreh!!!

One of the best unknown/underrated Mexican food places in the area is El Paisa on 35/Sandy Lake Rd.

Get the enchiladas with green salsa. You will want to lick your fucking plate when you're done, but be careful.....it's hot (like, FYI don't touch your plate when you first sit down, you WILL get 2nd degree burns LOL)

Wonder if that is the same El Paisa chain in Grapevine, Hurst and Bedford. Great food for a deal. They used to be in the old gas station at Mustang and 26 and moved into a real space on the other side of the parking lot when the Starbucks opened up.

Y0!!

You might actually be right. I just googled them and apparently there are several locations!?!

You know how that can be sometimes, so I can only say I've tried the one in Carrollton. As is also mentioned in the Yelp reviews, it is ridiculously cheap, especially considering how good it is.
