6th Street Bust

People need to look at the broader context too. With the Legi in town and the larger budget wars going on every asshole with a badge is trying to justify his existence. Notice the increase in speed traps? Watch for high profile busts at all levels. Just my two cents......

No doubt that many Korean owned businesses launder money for the Chinese mafia. Thank you for the enlightenment. Originally Posted by Billy_Saul

This story states that the two were approached by mamasan and invited inside. Not sure that is relevant to the story but it still sounds like bullshit to me. I've never been invited inside any AMP by anyone. Has anyone else?
I've heard numerous theories from board members over the years on how MC has been able to exist. Most popular I've heard repeated are they have connections w/ LE and local politicians to the fact Austin has no vice squad. I was starting to believe some of those. Obsviously people like to spout crap they don't know. This bust and closure just reiterates one thing to me. No one is immune to getting busted!

The only way the feds would have gotten involved is to follow a federal crime, and in this instance it would be either underage prostitution/porn, human trafficking or money laundering. Once their investigation found nothing of the sort they panned it off to the locals to real in the little fish.

I dont think the feds were worried about underage prostitution @ the MC--personally, in 30 years, I never saw a gal working there that was under 40.

So, it took the MC bust to facilitate a return by KC.

Good to see you, KC. I still remember those flirty tarts from London when you were going through your BBS adolescence. was that about 5-6 years ago? Those gals were a hoot. I was tempted to get on a plane and check out those funbags in person.

$5k taxes? A building on 6th st west of 35? No way. I would guess 9 or
10k. I'm a poor dumb lazy dumbass from San Antonio, but one of the high tech austin guys must know how to check the online records of the Travis County appraisal district. That would have the taxes to the penny.

Taxes are nothing on this location. I pulled the info and the appraised value of the place is 180K. She is paying around 4K a year

Well I'll be fucked. You all sure must have low school tax rates in Austin.

That building would be 8 or 9 k a year in SA. Course, all our schools are trilingual--English (sort of) espanish and spanglish.

And we got to cram a lot of education in a shorter period of time since most SA kids quit school at around 14 when they become grandparents.

Thanks, Elephant.

I don't see why San Antonio would that much higher. We are also trilingual in Austin. I read that by 2020 Whit kids will be the minority in Austin.

We still have their e-mails somewhere, we can always invite those punters and prozzies over here in the masses but let's spare the board the rubbish.

They'd probably drive the ECCIE international moderator krazy.

And the ' (insert spice here)- God' jokes were simply hilarious.

The county never caught up to her yet, maybe they will now. The country is broke and Mrs. Nelda Wells Spears might want to squeeze a little more out of her. A friend and I walked by yesterday and the door was closed with a ' We are closed' sign in the window; give it a few months. Mrs. Rogers shall re-appear.

I know it's an old thread, but there's no 30 day limit on this board.

I wonder what happened here? Did they ever reopen? Is there another business in the building?

I wonder if the real reason wasn't that someone with connections wanted the building?

I'm sure the "suits in charge" don't think handjobs, blowjobs, and fucking mama sans fit the vision of what downtown fun should be.
