I thought you were implying it in post #17 above.

If not, I apologize. I must have confused you with a typical liberal. Originally Posted by ExNYer

Mind you, the Texas Legislature has been under Republican control (totally) since 1994.

Im not suggesting giving anybody more more than they need or starting anything we don't. Just using the money we have as intended.

Call me whatever you want, but I'd like my school taxes to go to schools. I'd like to see mental health programs restored. I'd like for there to be more doctors in Texas rather than fewer. I'd like the money I paid in tolls to go to the transportation infrastructure.

We have the money. And we're generating more every day. why continue unnecessary cuts at the state level?

at the end of the day, we all pay. One way or another.

I'd like to the see performance comparisons between children with both a mother and a father in their home as opposed to the ones with just a mother. I'll bet the kids with two parents at home have substantially higher grades.

Illegitimacy is the driving force behind poverty, crime and underperforming schools. Originally Posted by joe bloe

Pointing this out, however, will get you roundly condemned for being judgmental of other people's life choices. Originally Posted by ExNYer

They just aren't programmed to redistribute the long term surplus. but their bosses,,will happily, swoop down and snatch up that money. It'll wind up as Political swag.

?this happens in one form or another EVERY FUCKING SESSION.

Sure, the politicians will figure out how to get it in their pockets. I'd say if they are running a surplus, they should cut taxes. Let the people decide how to spend their money.

I think those dipshits in Austin should have their taxes raised. They clearly aren't happy with the little amount they are paying now. Yssup should lead that charge.
