Sherry of DFW- HEALTH NUT

That shit drags you down... because you never have it. I eat healthy the majority of the time... but I will absolutely have an occasional treat-- and because I do so, my body doesn't see it as anything off the reservation. I probably choose to enjoy things the way I do because I have health concerns that all the diet and exercise in the world cannot solve (genetic-- born with it)

I'm glad you have what works for you. I watched my fit and healthy father die at the age of 44 from something that all the diets and exercise in the world couldn't have saved him from. I choose to enjoy life from both sides of the dietary aisle.

I have counseled many to have the occasional treat and I advocate everyone eating healthy if it makes them feel good - for me I feel really great and it enables me to live the life I want. If I ever got off my regimen of diet and exercise I would consider it slow motion suicide.
Before you suggest it I've had many hours of counseling from a PhD psychologist who agrees that in my case I feel so good being healthy but not extreme (I eat red meat, even sausage and use sugar substitutes..lol)that the benefits are appropriate with no undue orthorexia!

I understand some people enjoy food and I would like the taste of the occasional cookie but it really would not do enough for me to offset the negative health impact - I mainly look at food as fuel for the life I like to lead so I have no emotional unmet deficit from "denying" myself - it really isn't even hard for me to say no to food.

(Pretty girls are a completely different story)

I really don't even condemn self supporting fat people but those who get government assistance and are a burden on the healthcare system aggravate me.

I think Sherry is wonderful, and she should live as she see's fit. This, despite lecturing me about being fat, Trump and the canned Lovecraftian evil known as Progresso soup. I forgive you Sherry...(mutters 'I"m not fat' under breath...)
