Fascinating thread, ExSexy. I tend to agree with Harris on free will. Everything we do and choose is because of something from our past. Overcoming these forces are what some philosophies call "Enlightenment". I'm not there yet, and there are far fewer there than claim to be.

One man's enlightenment is another man's sociopath? What kind of bullshit is that?

Phony enlightenment can lead to sociopathic tendencies, but genuine Enlightenment will be neither judgmental or hateful. So if you are talking about people who convince themselves they are enlightened when they are not, I will agree with you. If you are saying there are genuine experiences of enlightenment that generate sociopathic behavior, you're full of shit.

Do you understand wtf I meant when I said :agreed upon 'enlightenment' It means something we all agree on. A sociopath is not going to agree with your version of enlightenment. Histronic agree with other Histronics and on to different mindsets we could go.

That is why I agreed with Harris. We have free will but only within a certain subset....

This is really the kind of talk I do with silly women that think of themself in a superior way and I am really just trying to get laid. Sigmund Freud would be proud...
