For women who are "difficult" to love. Warsan Shire

you are a horse running alone
and he tries to tame you
compares you to an impossible highway
to a burning house
says you are blinding him
that he could never leave you
forget you
want anything but you
you dizzy him, you are unbearable
every woman before or after you
is doused in your name
you fill his mouth
his teeth ache with memory of taste
his body just a long shadow seeking yours
but you are always too intense
frightening in the way you want him
unashamed and sacrificial
he tells you that no man can live up to the one who
lives in your head
and you tried to change didn't you?
closed your mouth more
tried to be softer
prettier
less volatile, less awake
but even when sleeping you could feel
him travelling away from you in his dreams
so what did you want to do, love
split his head open?
you can't make homes out of human beings
someone should have already told you that
and if he wants to leave
then let him leave
you are terrifying
and strange and beautiful
something not everyone knows how to love.

Really love listening to the recording of it here.

I can only be me,
Seeking ~P.

Any expectation aside that you set,
Is yours alone and will not be met.

Loving, loyal, and true,
That's all I can offer you.

"The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
....Get your legs back

Healthy and High Self Esteem ~P!

I will not let anyone steal my joy!
I've blocked all negative energy at the door!!!!
If It takes making other people uncomfortable to have love for myself
then that's what It Is.

I will not make my self esteem low enough for you to approve of me!

"Yes, I am mixed with Black, Unapologetically Black, Proud Black, and Black AGAIN"

I ordered a book that says Alicia Keys Tears for water song book of poems and lyrics. There is a poem I want to read to you and it goes something like this;

DAMN YOU!!!
For getting inside of me like this
For making me leave my cell
So I won't call
For making me feel so electric
Buy just one simple touch
Just a simple stroke
Of your fingers on my neck.

DAMN YOU!
For wanting me so bad
That you make me want you
For trying to break down
My carefully constructed tough exterior
For trying to get close to the interior
DAMN YOU 3x
. . .

DAMN YOU!
For even making me write this down
For thinking this long about this
About you

DAMN YOU!
For making my never
Turn into a maybe
Turn into a never say never.
Each time a woman
stands up for herself,
without knowing It possibly,
without claiming It,
she stands up
for all women.

The moral of the story:
If you want a seat at the table –
If you want power, Influence, and a chance for your voice to be heard –
you can’t wait for an Invitation to arrive In the mail.
You have to write your own Invitation.
You have to be courageous, take Initiative and speak up –
even If nobody’s Inviting you to do so.

If nobody’s offering you a seat, you have to pull up your own chair.

"If you're not at the table,
you're on the menu"
I'm a prisoner
of words unsaid
Just lonely feelings
Locked away in my head
I trap myself further
Every time I stay, quiet
I should start to speak
But I stop and stay silent
And now I've made
My own hard bed
Inside this prison of words unsaid

P.O.W.
That's what I am
Not a prisoner of war
A prisoner of words
Mostly I say what you wanna hear
Could you take it if I came clear?
Or would you rather just see me
Stoned on a drug of complacency and compromise
M.I.A.
I guess that's what I am
Scraping this cold hard earth
For a piece of myself
For peace in myself

You know my FAV. artist wrote this: ~Alicia Augello Cook, AKA. Alicia Keys~
Hurt cannot be forgotten,
although you can stop reliving it and move on.

If you wake up early in the morning and the first
thing you do is
leave out of your element just to
throw slugs at someone, you're hurting.
Stop the self-destruction.

If you're up all night throwing slugs
on the World Wide Web trying to assassinate someones
character, you're the only one that's hurting.
Stop the self-destruction.

Just know nobody can hurt anyone without their permission.

‘STILL I RISE’

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
