I haven't researched any of it.that's because in spanish, "J" sounds like "H" and "H" is silent. oh, and "Z" sounds like "S".
My SO is Hispanic and speaks Spanish (Mexican?) fluently.
Texas is pronounced "TEH has."
Mexico is pronounced "MEH hi co."

First of all it wasn't just anglo/white immigrants that fought for Texas independence.true, there were lots of mexicans who detested santa ana and his dictatorial control over mexico.
