Middle easterners are not Asians. At least last I checked, the Asian boundary really starts near west of India. People did migrate from Africa to Egypt and then to Middle East. If anything, middle easterners are closer to Egyptians and eastern Europeans. Very little Asians although silk road did open up a way to create a more mixed and diverse ethnic group.

Middle easterners have no interest to be classified as Asian. In fact, they want to be classified as white.. That probably doesn't sit well with you.. At least census bureau may create a new category just for middle easterners.

Im not a fan of lumping people together from multiple countries with different histories, language, culture, and even religion...but it's your business and your reasons are your own.

However, I'm guessing by "Indian descent" you really mean South Asians and should probably phrase it as such or you'll eventually encounter an irritated Sri Lankan, Nepalese, or Pakistani gentleman. I'm willing to bet you couldn't tell the difference between them and the guys from various parts of India. India is a large and diverse place and the Indian subcontinent even moreso.
