I think someone needs to learn what "inflation" and "deflation" mean. Not going to mention any names, but I understand he wants to play, too.

Totally non-news. The market goes up and down all the time. If the market climbs 215 points will you come back and post? I don't think so. Everyone thought the market was a bit over valued and this, to many, was just a correction that should have happened.

If you try to make statements concerning the market based on one day or one week for that matter you will just come off as uneducated. Originally Posted by BigLouie

Actually a 1200 points down would be much better in stead of 215.
A nice chance to buy some cheap stock.

And also, a few hours after the market closed I already knew for 99% sure that the next day would be positive. How? The minute after the ALCOA first quarter profits were released.
So if I traded stock, I would have made a very good profitable day.

But I don't trade stock because it is way too slow. I have a 401K balance but actually thinking of getting rid of it.

Seems like if you support the President, the Dow "corrects". If you oppose, it "plunges." The fact is, it goes up and down. Generally trending up, but that may change if our national debt continues to increase, but all things being equal, the Dow will rise, and it will fall, and if left alone, it will generally trend upwards.

It just seems to me that some people, not all seem to read into a drop in the stock market as a sign of the current opponent of the white house. Stocks go up and down all the time. Rich people make money either way. My company stock has been the same under both presidents. I hate it when either side try's and take credit for things. Jobs are coming back is it Obama fault maybe maybe not but he takes the blame or credit either way. To hope for the worst in any president is to seal your own fate.
Useless thread? Oh, it would only be usefull if the headline was "Dow rises 214 points"? Originally Posted by Jackie S

Jackie, in case you have not noticed the Dow has had two excellent days in a row and has more than made made up for the 214 points it lost two days ago. Yet this is still a "useless thread."

Is it a conicidence that this thread seems to have a striking resemblance to the thread starter? They are both totally useless!

Neither one of the "jokes" were of any value! And your feeble attempt at humor was a shitty joke as well!
