If the Senate had wanted to pass this thing on to the White House (who also wanted a 12 month extension) then the Senate would have passed one.The house would not pass a bill without add ons the other 2 legislative portions of our 3 body government did not want. The senate passed a heavily bi-partisan 2 month and the president compromised by giving the pipeline 2 months of extra debate time.

Is 2 months ideal? No but it is better than having the unemployment, payroll tax, and the Doctor(medicare pay thing) expire on the 31st.

The bottom line is that the senate and the president were willing to negotiate. The house wasn't.

This is not a good plan, they need to repeal this power grab and work together on something that might actually work. If Obamacare stands, health care as we know will change drastically and deteriorate quickly.
