Searc out some who advertise "newbie friendly" and try that route.

Otherwise you'll need to get used to the doubting folks.

I was a member on ASPD and wrote a handful of reviews. I found the process of submitting a review of MY experience subjected me to a considerable amount of criticism from others that saw the lady in a different manner. I even received direction from a Mod to make changes in a review to my description of the provider as she was offended by it.

I never actually wrote a "No" review but in the comments section I was a little critical of appearances to suit others that were probably more mesmerized than I was.

I approach getting my dick wet differently than others I think and was very disappointed, having relied on others descriptions a few times, to meet providers that were older or heavier or simply less attractive than their pics or reviews indicated.

Life is a risk, take it or check out.

Speaking for myself, I'd rather see a review on that little hottie I've looked at on BP but was afraid of getting ripped off than the 30th review of a provider that everybody knows is awesome.

The Austin ECCIE section is cliquish, as I'm sure other cities are the same with their fair share of invitation-only subgroups and parties that the general public isn't aware. If a review isn't flattering of a member of the invitation-only subgroup, then I expect her white knights to come out swinging to defend the fair damsel in distress, or perhaps the opposite to boast her provider skills to help round up business. It's not different from other things in our lives, it's just they way of doing business.

and the op actually is right.. Austin IS cliquish, and snobbish.. there ARE exceptions, but those ARE exceptions.. we have become a town of "fuck you, I got mine, now you're on your own, and I'll get in your way to keep it like this".. didn't used to be like that, but it is now. All in the guise of "Welcome to Town.. now get the hell out."

It's sad really; usually when people band together over a common interest, the more unorthodox the interest, the tighter the group. Considering the focus of this board and how much potential there is to save each other thousands of dollars just by being civil and communicating, it's bizarre, and disheartening, to see the backbiting and belittling that seems to be the norm.
