Outing on Craigslist

It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. It doesn't matter how you act on this board or who you piss off or who others think you are supposedly "bullying" or if others think you are a "bully" or a bitch or an ass hole or what ever. The mods are here to regulate this board so if you can't take the heat get the fuck off this site, this is not for faint of heart. Either grow up and learn to roll with the punches or go curl up in the fetal position under your bed and suck your thumb. But outing in any way, shape, form or fashion is WRONG period. If they'll out one they'll out anyone and they are lower than whale shit. The outer is no different than the little white stuff on top of chicken shit.....just more chicken shit. It is interesting that one semi-frequent poster on this forum is mysteriously absent from this particular thread though. Outing is outing, period, and if the outer of this is ever discovered then they should be banned forever.

Everyone deserves to have their private information be kept private, no matter who they are or how much you dislike them. There is no excusing it. There is no "understanding" it.

I have the private information of countless people here, including the perpetrators. However, I maintain a deep respect for hobby boundaries, lines that should never be crossed, and the number one cardinal rule of the hobby – discretion and anonymity for everyone, no matter what.

A volatile person who is willing to cross those boundaries with weak justifications – whatever the excuse – is a danger not only to me, but every single one of you whose information she possesses. She might eventually have what she feels is a good excuse for putting your information out there, too... but when it's happening to you, I'm sure that you won't feel that it's justified or understandable.

I'm reading through this thread, and I'm seeing a lot of the same "outing is bad, don't do it, if one person goes down, we all risk going down, blah blah blah" posts. But as some still new-ish to the hobby, I've gotta ask my fellow hobbyists: What if this provider had outed you? What if you saw her, posted a bad review, and she posted your info? I'm sure there'd be a hell of a lot more outrage. We'd be calling for that bitch's head on a platter. But that's not the case here... Instead, we're gonna sit back and say "well that sucks, but I'm glad it didn't happen to me" and post meaningless platitudes while the drama plays out. I realize that the mods here can't do anything about it, since it happened off-site, but the least we can do is keep each other honest. And the best way to do that is to boycott/blacklist petty, volatile, unstable providers who out people, hobbyist or provider, over petty bullshit and disagreements on the board.

If you do not have evidence and you just strongly believe it is someone you should be really careful before you accuse someone jut because you do not like them. If you do in fact have proof then you really should share that for the safety of the entire community IMO.

You are misinterpreting what I have posted. What I'm saying is that the person who did this to me is not alone in the fact that they possess personal information on people in this community -- but I also stated that I would never stoop that low, regardless. Anyone willing to take those types of actions demonstrates to everyone that they're willing to do it to anyone. No vendetta could ever justify jeopardizing the trust and respect I have worked to build in this community for over 8 years.

I strongly suspect who it was due to striking and unique spelling similarities between the craigslist posts and their posts here; but I have not named them because I do not have 100% solid proof. You're free to look at the evidence and come to your own conclusions.

Ginger is upset with me presently and rightfully so but I have absolutely no worries that she would ever out anything about me. Too bad this individual cannot be found. It would be a deterrent from anyone doing this in the future if they could be outed and I don’t mean their personal information. I mean their actions should be brought to light and banned from the site no matter if this was done on this site or not because this individual is a danger to everyone, someone else may be next. To me this is just as bad as identity theft.
