So POTUS, said this travel ban isn't a muslim ban yet Rudy G. says Trump specifically asked him to help draft a muslim ban legally.

He then gave preferential treatment to syrian christian refugees?


The fact that this travel ban may or may not have prevented any of the recent "home grown" attacks like san bernadino or orlando and whether or not it is good propaganda for the enemy, not withstanding...

In this article you will see a definite slant against the right to own guns where the author writes;
“The Florida attack was the latest in a series of mass shootings that have plagued the United States in recent years, some inspired by militants with an extreme view of Islam, others carried out by loners or the mentally disturbed who have easy access to weapons under U.S. gun laws.”
Here’s my issue:
Doesn’t it seem hypocritical for many people to say on one hand, “Trump’s views on Muslim vetting and a possible Muslim registration are wrong; because every Muslim isn’t a threat – it’s only a very few radicals – so it’s unconstitutional and an invasion of privacy and freedoms”…
But in the meantime say “Democrats view on stricter registration and vetting are justified as support of stricter gun registration laws and bans on the rights of civilians to peacefully own assault type weapons because a few – micro-percentage points - of the US gun owner population are bat-sh#t crazy”.
Yes – we’d love to “take away guns from every individual wanting to do bat-sh#t crazy harm”
And,
Yes – we’d love to “only have to register radical Muslim extremists who are going to do a terrorist act…”
But you see, unless you make it a hassle of registration and vetting for everyone in each case; how do you do it? How do you find them?
Extremists are already here! (And the next bat-sh#t crazy person already owns a weapon!)

Trump then gave priorities to Christians in Syria. To me that says we said level of danger, which includes Syria. However, if you are Syrian but you are also Christian, then we'll give you a pass.

So, I read all of this. Some qualifies as educated, well-thought, and reasonable; others qualify as ... well, the word ridiculous comes to mind. Among the latter is the thought that just because I am in the public, I am militia. I can just imagine the government publishing a notice for all able-bodied men to grab their weapons and report to the local recruiting office for immediate deployment. You would be the first in line to scream "You can't do this. I'm a private system. We don't have a militia any more".
I have always maintained (and by the way, I am a retired Marine with 31 years service and 12 years in law enforcement) that SCOTUS got it wrong, that the first phrase of the 2nd amendment qualifies the right to bear arms, since it specifies the right to carry is to support the militia. But that aside, I dont', the Democrats don't, I know very few folks who do ... want to take all guns away from private citizens. Why do you equate a desire to take assault weapons and high capacity magazines out of circulation with the right to hunt and protect yourselves? Simply isn't the same thing. I have been asking the same question for years. Give me one reason why anyone NEEDS an assault rifle, other than for curiosity or to kill mass numbers. You wouldn't hunt with one. It isn't appropriate for self-protection in the home. You can't carry it in your car or on your person. What's the point?

Enough of my rant. And I won't return to read the impassioned responses by gun nuts convinced I'm ripping the AK-47s out of their arms.

I do agree that a actual need for a high round capacity semi automatic light weight rifle really doesn't exist. The likely hood of the public needing to repel an oppressive standing army is about the same as getting a 2k/night hooker to blow me free of charge.

Don't have or want a gun. Very okay with that as long as if I ever do have a NEED for one, I have a right to get one.

The militia is the people, simply put. We dont have or need local miltias right now. Hopefully wont ever need them again. Things change.

It is sung that the USMC guard the very streets of heaven. History has shown that all great empires evenually fall. As long as the USMC exists, I'm not too worried. The USMC may one day only reside in heaven and leave the people to defend their own streets, though.

America will never be "single peopled" enough to avoid conflicts created by race, religion, or coffee choice.

YES - every time something is changed it probably means a restriction to someone... But how much of a restriction, and the result of that - you almost need to see and judge later. OK, but what if it stops the next one in Plano? or Arlington?... thing is, you won't be able to tell right away... but if a year goes by (because we're getting how many now? seems like one a week...), and there's fewer - then maybe? And if the ban did what... slowed down immigration; then what's the down side of that?

America is full of a BUNCH of people right now how HATE the President and his politics...
