In the 1990s three men were convicted in Austin for having raped and murdered four teenagers in a Yogurt shop on Anderson Lane without any physical evidence, witnesses, or corroboration of any kind. After years in prison the three defendants were released and not tried again because semen specimens from the victims didn't match any of the those convicted. If you are a big name around here you can get off from anything, but if you are just a lowly nobody then the powers that be will blame you if they can't find anyone else. Pretty much the same goes in the statehouse and the courthouses everywhere in this state.
