What about a civil trial? OJ was aquitted but then sued for the murders.

I think the standard is different as I recall.
The criminal trial is beyond a reasonable doubt
The civil trial is a preponderance of the evidence (or something similar)

Just a little tid-bit:

MIAMI — Assertions by the prosecution that Casey Anthony conducted extensive computer searches on the word “chloroform” were based on inaccurate data, a software designer who testified at the trial said Monday.

The designer, John Bradley, said Ms. Anthony had visited what the prosecution said was a crucial Web site only once, not 84 times, as prosecutors had asserted. He came to that conclusion after redesigning his software, and immediately alerted prosecutors and the police about the mistake, he said."

So one of the major pieces of evidence against her turned out not to be true, apparently.

Interesting, that.
Casey Anthony is a flaming liberal and big Odumbo supporter.......
I really believe that people should have a license to have a child in the first place.

Casey Anthoney declared not guilty of ANY degree of murder! Originally Posted by DallasRain

About three or four other charges, that add up to 40+ years when combine and served in full. But they went for the high profile "big money" case instead of just trying to get her in prison where she does belong.
