Yeah. It's called a one man scramble. I get to play each shot twice. My B player is amazing.

OK- I am a few entries behind, but cannot resist the opportunity to brag. It was a long time ago, when I had more stamina and less common sense- and it was in another country, but...

On a golf trip in the Caribbean, I was traveling with my then girlfriend and a business associate and the woman he was dating. What we noticed in the first couple of days is that the girls both liked each other a lot. I knew my girlfriend was very open minded. She was that woman men look back and and say "Why the hell didn't I marry her?! Gorgeous, gregarious and smart. And when we got going, she went places that men do not get to go, but if we are lucky, we get to be part of the process.

Anyway over too much booze, the idea came out of a threesome- but the two women could not (or would not choose) which of us would be the lucky third wheel. (I think they had their eye on one of the pool boys but did not know if they could sell it). In the end, the decision was made that it would be decided on the field of battle- the big course at this resort. The next day we went out, the girls driving the carts, dressed as closely to the models above as the course would allow. They made it clear that they were sticking with their drunken challenge of the night before. He and I had a frank conversation on the first tee and decided it was cool- so now the game was on.

We played almost an even match right up to the 18th par 5 with an approach over the ocean. I hit an 8 iron pure at the stick. The hole was over a rise on the green, so we knew it was close. His approach went wide to the right so he would have about a 60 foot chip- but when we got to the green, we found my ball in the hole. That was the match.

After dinner, and dancing, he shook my hand and I left with one gorgeous woman on each arm. I was headed for the room, but his girlfriend said that they were concerned he would have a change of heart and spoil things- and they had another idea. I realized that they were steering me to the 18th hole, where the deed(s) would be done.

All I can tell you is that I was glad for a few things. One- that the sprinklers did not go on. Two that security did not make rounds (or if they did were deaf). And three that the women were into each other- otherwise I would never have been able to keep up. To this day, I cannot hit an approach shot to an 18th green without smiling and realizing that I have probably used up my luck on the 18th for a life time.

Probably one of the high point memories of life. Sigh- back to my mundane work day.
That my friend, is a career eagle. Wow, Im jealous.

Howl at the Moon---WOW!!! Thats hot !

It is my go-to memory for times of drought... but I am ever optimistic that I will experience something to outstrip it. But then again, I was younger then. If it were to happen again now, there are not enough Wheaties in the world... But I have enjoyed remembering it. Um... excuse me but I think I need to go take a shower now.
