STD testing for those with SO

To answer the original question, there are several options and levels of discretion.

I was paranoid about giong to Waller the first time, but it's a clinic. So, people go there for other treatment. Test results come back within 10 days usually and you call to check your results. The basic gambit of tests are done there, but not much on the results except positive/negative. Your information must be provided there to get your results. So while it may be discrete, your information is on record there.
It's like $20 or less for STD test suite. Bring a book, lots of people in the waiting room so make sure you schedule enough time.

Planned Parenthood is another option. It's a bit pricier at $125 (I recall, it may not be correct) for general STD test suite. I think your information is also kept there.

I now use Any Test Now which has two locations in Austin and the north location was mentioned previously in this thread near 2222 and Mopac.

AnyTestNow.com for some info, but links are broken and not much maintenance with their website.
It's about $200 for a full STD test sweep (maybe 180). It is completely anonymous (when paying cash) and no information is required. I use different names, like Don Johnson or Willy Bigg. Test results are ready within a week and you can pick it up at the store location. A report of detection rate and criteria for positive and negative are given.

If you have a good paying job, then most likely you have health care provider options. It is also an option, but a lot of information is disclosed so not very discrete from a paper perspective.

Ask your friends for a private practitioner recommendation if you don't know any personally.

It's good to have a health check frequently, especially in this type of lifestyle.

So if all options require you to physically be somewhere, what made you pick the $200 option vs the $20 Waller one? I had also found some sites with locations in Austin prior to posting this thread but I wasn't sure what made all these places better than Waller. One place even had an at-home testing option which would be ideal. I'm crossing that option off since I'm not sure how accurate that will be.

I recall Waller requiring your driver's license during registration. You also have to wait in line with all the other patients (non-STD too) and you don't get a full report of tests, just a pass/fail for each test.

I actually thought Waller was completely anonymous. Didn't know that you have to show a driver's license. Thanks for clearing that up.

Have you done anything unsafe? Did the Condom break? Go to Web Md and read what doctors are sayin about sexworkers and stds. If your that worried go to any family planning clinic on the opposite side of town.

How about you get yourself some glasses. I didn't write what you wrote. Anyways I see you took the stupid pill when it comes to being safe and anonymous. Also you realize it's "you're" and not "your" right? Wait I forgot. Stupid pill.

The RBJ Health Dept. (Waller Clinic) it's just $15 and yes you do have to have an ID of some kind. When you pay they give you a reciept and you can use it to come back with in 30 days for free if you need to. They dont ever call you by your name...they call you by a number. You will be tested for HIV, Sypillis, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea. The nurse will also look for any bumps or open sores in your mouth and genitals. Your HIV and Sypillis results will be avail immediately before you even leave your appt. And the other results now come back in 5 days so it's much faster! And you can help yourself to plenty of free condoms.

It's kinda awkward going to those please but we are all adults and there for the same reason. Most people that are there do want piece of mind even if they had sex with someone using a condom.
Guilty as charged. The guy who wrote in another thread about how he had a high paying job and lived in a 3500 sq. foot home but now live in an apartment and gives his ex half his pay will probably understand. I get paid really well, have a home bigger than this guy, and I actually want to stay with my SO. So call me paranoid, puss, whatever. Originally Posted by txAustin202

As usual, I learned a lot* from this thread. LOL

I fully understand your position, and only someone that never had shit, cannot understand. This information can benefit many in the community. Don't think it is in the best interests of anyone to have big brother know everything about you, including medical history that contains STD's.
