Have you ever been busted ?

Tuck is correct, I spent a lot of time on the road years ago and saw the Lot Lizards at 90% of the truck stops if it was late in the night. Some looked very doable but never pulled the trigger.

No, I haven't. Screen, screen, and screen for safety.

I don’t live in Texas but that felony law for soliciting would certainly make me hesitate.

LE busts are usually low-budget, keystone-cops affairs conducted out of the likes of a Motel 6, Rodeway Inn, Red Roof Inn (or worse) ... trying to entrap hapless, bargain-hunting, low-hanging-fruit mongers who respond to too-good-to-be-true, "Backpage-like" ads.
If a provider has a website, reviews on TER, a teaser video and operates out of a high-end hotel ... the probability of her being an LE undercover is just about zero!

When visiting a new girl at a Hotel I leave my phone in the truck and I walk into the Hotel carrying a book.

LE if running a sting, when they approach the John will call back the number used to contact the girl/ad. If they hear a reply from your phone they know they have the right guy and the evidence on your phone that implicates you. Without your phone on your person you just complicated their job and the investigation.

I avoid eye contact with anyone by acting like i'm reading the book. A clerk who has worked Hotel Desk for several years knows by the look of shame when someone walks by them if they are there to see a H00ker.

Acting like your reading a book or just reading something on your phone and avoiding eye contact raises less suspicion, especially by a nosey clerk.

I did get arrested in Vegas once accused of running a Private Poker Game in my room and taking a rake. I just kept my mouth shut, said nothing, refused to let them see inside my phone. They booked me and then dropped the charges right after I contacted the Bail Bondsman.

Bondsman said if everyone kept their mouth shut once read Miranda he would be out of business.

I've had "Killing Patton" by Bill O'Riley in my truck for over 6 years and have yet to get out of Chapter 1.

I rarely choose a girl staying in a Hotel especially someone new, but you miss many a hidden gem by avoiding those types.
