TANF limit is 5 years in your lifetime but there are exceptions that stop the 5 years clock:

having more children, claiming medical condition, claiming disability, meeting minimum work requirement of a few hours a week, those are Federal Laws.

But many states will also stop the clock and let you be on it almost indefinitely even if you don't meet those exceptions.

Democrat mentality: "I'm going to steal food and hurt people who try to stop me starting November 1st if my benefits get cut." What is wrong with these people?

Black women behaving badly—charity boss stole $11M from starving kids…
October 23, 2025

There are bad people in this world, and then there’s Connie Bobo, who really takes the cake.

Connie is the Missouri “charity boss” behind another grift-giving business called New Heights Community Resource Center. The center was supposed to be helping feed starving, low-income kids.

Instead, prosecutors say Queen Bobo spent nearly $11 million in taxpayer money on herself and her boyfriend. She let kids starve so she could live like some quasi Queen Latifah.

She bought mansions, luxury goods, made real estate deals, and purchased an unbelievably gaudy bright yellow Mercedes G-Wagon for her boyfriend.
A Missouri charity boss swiped nearly $11 million meant for food-starved, low-income kids and blew it on lavish items such as mansions and a flashy yellow Mercedes for her boyfriend, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Connie Bobo, 46, who ran the New Heights Community Resource Center in Bridgeton, allegedly claimed she had spent $20 million of the federally allocated taxpayer money to feed the children between February 2019 to March 2022.

But she actually spent less than half of those “meal reimbursement” funds on food — instead plunking down big bucks on real estate and “luxury goods,” and giving her romantic partner $1.4 million, according to prosecutors. [She bought] a mansion for herself, houses for her family and a bright yellow Mercedes for her boyfriend,” Assistant US Attorney Jonathan Clow told jurors at her fraud trial Tuesday. “As her lies were discovered, the defendant used forged documents to try and cover up her crimes,” he said, according to stltoday.com

In total, Bobo bought seven properties, including a nearly $1 million mansion for herself in St. Charles, according to her federal indictment, filed in October 2023...

Trump to Use Profits from Dem-Opposed Tariffs to Save Women and Children's Food Program During Dem Government Shutdown
By Jack Davis October 8, 2025

In its continued effort to steamroll conventional tactics and apply unprecedented innovation to running the federal government, President Donald Trump will steer tariff revenue to a program that feeds infants to keep it operating while the federal government is shut down.

The Women Infants and Children program, still known as WIC even though its official name is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, was in potential danger of running out of cash amid the government shutdown, for which Trump has blamed Democrats...

...The program cost $7.6 billion in the 2025 federal fiscal year.

Trump’s tariffs have brought in about $190 billion this year, much of it under Section 232, which allowed Trump to say they were imposed for national security reasons...

...Eric Daugherty @EricLDaugh
BREAKING: President Trump just SAVED the Women and Children's Food Program from losing money under the Democrats' federal shutdown.

This is because $200 BILLION came in from Trump's tariffs and some of that money will keep the program running.

Trump cares, Schumer does NOT.

"More than $200 billion coming into the coffers from tariffs...the women and children food program will NOT be cut off while the government is shut down. Some of the money will go to make sure that the program is kept UP and RUNNING, according to WH Press Sec Karoline Leavitt."

Amazing...

On social media like Tik Tok, people who are currently on SNAP and won't be getting it in November are posting videos telling everyone to steal food on November 1st.

I think anyone who is on SNAP and does that should permanently lose those SNAP benefits along with receiving criminal charges for stealing and for organizing crime.

Dunno. But I would expect what they are saying is: People are losing access to SNAP benefits because the Dems have shutdown the government. Originally Posted by Why_Yes_I_Do

If you *REALLY* cared about these people, you would get together to address the points on the legislation the demmies want to stay.

Who is refusing to do that?

Don't you think it will hurt the poor republicans in the southern red state more? Originally Posted by trey32

A little education. House passed a continuing resolution to fund the government. Senate dems, except Fetterman and a couple others, are voting against funding the federal government.

The Senate cannot pass a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government due to the 60-vote threshold required to overcome a filibuster (Senate procedural rule that have been in place in current form since 1975 and at a higher vote count prior to that). The Democrat’s are holding the federal government hostage by not passing a CR that is only related to funding the government.

With only a 53-47 Senate Republican majority, Republicans need at least seven Democrats to reach the 60 votes needed. However, Democrats have opposed the Republican-led CR, citing concerns over other non related issues.

As of October 25, 2025, the U.S. Senate has failed to pass a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government at least 12 times since the shutdown began on October 1.

So what that is going to do is not make the base angry with Republicans... but with Democrats. That will make them show up for primaries and general elections... hence why Republicans are not going to interrupt their enemy while they are digging the hole they have found themselves in.
